Athens man sentenced on threat charges in Florida

Preston McWaters gets a three and-a-half year prison sentence: the 25 year-old Athens man was in court Tuesday in Florida. McWaters pleaded guilty to terrorist threat charges after making bomb threats aimed at schools in south Florida and at the airport in Palm Beach.

McWaters entered guilty pleas in July to four counts of transmitting threats through interstate communication and two counts of conveying false information regarding explosive devices. He appeared Tuesday morning in a US District courtroom in Broward County Florida.
