Beer sales in Sanford Stadium?

from AJC Sports... — Alcohol sales at SEC football stadiums -- including Georgia’s Sanford Stadium -- is expected to be a topic of conversation at this week’s SEC spring meetings.

Beer is often consumed at tailgates surrounding the game, but not within the stadiums on SEC campuses.

However, more than a dozen of the 34 schools that sell beer at football games are located in a state with an SEC school. In some cases, schools that share an off-campus stadium with NFL teams allow alcohol sales, for example, when Georgia State played at the Georgia Dome.

SEC commissioner Greg Sankey said the issue is up for discussion, be he is not a fan of the idea. He told the The Tuscaloosa News in April:

“The conference has a policy that says that we’re not selling alcohol in the general seating area. Now, you can agree or disagree with that policy, but that’s the policy. The basis for changing that or maintaining it is one that’s developed in the conversation.
