Charges in crash that killed Winder woman

Police in Lawrenceville are charging the driver of a truck that crashed on Highway 316 in Gwinnett County, killing a woman from Winder. Joseph Newson is 60 years old, from Butts County. 62 year-old Eva Wilkerson of Barrow County was killed in the June 12 pile-up that involved eight vehicles and injured 17 people. The wreck happened on 316 near Hi Hope Road in Lawrenceville. Charges for Newson include vehicular homicide. He was, at last report, still in the Gwinnett County jail.
