Dogs hold steady in playoff rankings

The Georgia Bulldogs hold on to the seventh spot in the college football playoff rankings that were released last night. The Dogs still likely control their post-season destiny, with wins this weekend against Georgia Tech and the following weekend’s SEC Championship Game in Atlanta likely to put coach Kirby Smart’s team in the field of four playoff teams.

Coach Mark Richt’s undefeated Miami Hurricanes are No. 2 in the latest rankings by the College Football Playoff selection committee.

The committee, in rankings released Tuesday night, flip-flopped Miami and Clemson in the rankings. Clemson, which was No. 2 last week, is now No. 3.

There were no other changes in the top 12 of Tuesday’s rankings. Georgia was among the teams holding position, staying No. 7. Alabama remained No. 1, Oklahoma No. 4, Wisconsin No. 5 and Auburn No. 6.
