First freeze of the season for Athens, NE Ga

Athens and northeast Georgia wake up to the first freeze warning of the season: the National Weather Service was predicting freezing temperatures for Athens and mercury into the twenties in the northeast Georgia mountains. There is an advisory from the Georgia DOT, a warning about automatic sprinklers that could put water on streets and roadways, water that could turn into ice and create traffic hazards.
