Hall Co. Sheriff’s Office puts on annual Christmas bike program

The Hall Co. Sheriff’s Office has conducted its annual bicycle program since 1997 as a community outreach effort. It provides new bicycles and helmets to children who might not have much under the Christmas tree. The program is funded by private donations, Sheriff’s Office staff, Citizens Academy alumni and through funds raised by the annual Sheriff’s Show and Shine car show. The Hall Co. Sheriff’s Office thanks Walmart of Oakwood and the National Christian Foundation for their generosity this year.

Recipients of the bikes and helmets are chosen through local schools, churches and social service organizations (i.e. Boys and Girls Club, CASA, etc). Those interested in applying or identifying someone who might be a candidate should contact Sandy Garrett in the Court Services Division by calling (770) 531-7090. Applications are due on Dec. 14. The bicycles will be distributed to families at the Hall County Courthouse on Dec. 18.
