The Northeast Georgia Regional Commission meets this afternoon in Athens, a 12 o'clock session at the downtown Holiday Inn. 

Banks County Commissioners, meeting in Homer, hire a new Banks County Economic Development Director. Hannah Mullins has worked most recently as head of the economic development authority of Washington and Wilkes County. 

The City Council in Royston says property tax rates will hold steady: no millage rate increase for the coming fiscal year in Royston. 

A Gainesville City Council work session is on tap for today, underway at 9 o'clock this morning at the Administration Building in Gainesville.

If you didn’t get your Hall County property taxes paid by Wednesday, you’ve missed a deadline: Hall County property tax bills were due two weeks earlier than normal this year. Officials in Gainesville say they sent out 90,000 property tax notices back in September.
