Two killed in crashes, man arrested on assault charge

A woman is killed in a Monday night car crash in Gainesville: Gainesville Police say she died after being taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center. The accident remains under investigation. The woman’s name has not yet been released.

A student at the University of North Georgia is killed in a car crash: 19 year-old Charles Boykins was a UNG freshman from Gwinnett County. He was driving home from spring break in Florida at the time of the accident in Phenix City Alabama.

A Hall County man faces aggravated assault charges: Steve Day is 45 years old, from Flowery Branch. The Hall County Sheriff's Office says he's accused of holding a knife to a woman's throat at a home in Hall County. She was not injured; Day was booked into the Hall County jail.
