UGA bus driver arrested on gun charge

A student bus driver for the University of Georgia was arrested after allegedly taking a loaded gun into a residence hall on the UGA campus. 30 year-old Brett Davis faces charges after the incident at Brumby Hall. Davis tells campus police he parked at the Russell Hall bus stop to use the men’s room at Brumby and took the gun inside with him. The gun was found by a campus employee after Davis left it there by mistake. He’s facing misdemeanor counts that include reckless conduct and possession of a weapon on school property, even though he has the concealed carry permit that allows, under Georgia’s new campus carry law, for possession of guns on University property.
