Lewis is looking at reckless conduct charges. The girl remains hospitalized, at last report in critical condition.

A mother and son are arrested after this week's discovery of human remains in Hall County: Monica Duffie is 42 years old; Craig Dykes is 24; both are from Flowery Branch. The skeletal remains were found this past Sunday in woods near Flowery Branch and are believed to be those of an elderly man who lives in Duffie's home. The GBI is in on the ongoing investigation.

Piedmont College baseball coach Jim Peeples has been named the new athletic director at the college, taking over from John Dzik, who announced in January that he would retire June 30 after 10 years in the AD position. Firefighter say a blaze burning in the Chattahoochee National Forest near Ellijay is almost completely contained. The U.S. Forest Service says the wildfire burned almost 200 acres.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office has identified the woman whose body was found earlier this week in Grant Park: Rachel Batelaan was 25 years old. No word on cause of death.

A truck driver from Floyd County is arrested, charged as a serial rapist: authorities in Rome say Lester Pauley is 58 years old, from Cave Spring. He is suspected in a string of rapes and sexual assaults that date back to 2008.
