He’s a quarterback who is looking to transfer from Notre Dame and he will be visiting the University of Georgia: Everett Golson has visited other schools as he looks to leave South Bend, including the universities of South Carolina and Florida. Golson has graduated from Notre Dame and would eligible to play in the upcoming season.

Jimmy Womack has died: Womack was a running back on the Georgia Bulldog team that won the 1980 national championship. Womack was 56 years old, from Warner Robins. He reportedly died from complications from a recent surgery.

Sallie Wright visits the University of Georgia today. The deputy chief information technology officer at Georgia State University in Atlanta is among the finalist for the technology information officer’s job at UGA.

There are now guilty pleas from two former Hall County Sheriff's deputies, both of whom were facing corruption charges: David Treadwell is 33 years old, from Gainesville. He was accused of taking money to tip off a drug dealer to an ongoing investigation. 19 year-old Austin Herring was a Hall County jail guard from Murrayville. He was charged with distributing drugs to inmates at the lockup in Gainesville.

There were no injuries or evacuations: crews in Hall County worked to repair a Tuesday gas leak in a condominium complex in Gainesville.

The former Mayor and the former City Manager are the two people named in an investigate report in Demorest, a now-completed probe into $600,000 in missing city money. Malcolm Hunnicutt was mayor; Juanita Crumley was the city manager in Demorest. The money went missing from the water department in Demorest. The GBI and the District Attorney will get the report, possibly as early as today. It's up to the DA to determine if any charges are brought or indictments are sought.

The GBI says Roosevelt Champion's death was a suicide: the body of the 43 year-old Greensboro man was found hanging from a tree in Greene County. Questions were raised because Champion, who was black, was recently questioned in the ongoing investigation into the murder of a white woman killed in Greene County.

There will be more body cameras for police officers in Gwinnett County: the city of Duluth is getting the cameras for its officers.  

Investigators with the National Transportation Safety Board say they could have preliminary findings this week as they continue their search for the cause of last Friday's plane crash in DeKalb County: four people were killed when their small plane crashed on I-285, going down just after takeoff from DeKalb-Peachtree Airport.

Police are investigating in Johns Creek: a soccer player at Chattahoochee High School is accused of punching a soccer referee.
