A wild pitch brought Keegan McGovern home for a two-run cushion, leaving runners at second and third.  Will Campbell was intentionally walked and Michael Curry singled to left field, bringing Trey Logan and Maxwell home for the decisive five-run lead.

Coach's Corner

Ike Cousins Head Baseball Coach Scott Stricklin

On splitting the midweek series…

"We need to score some runs.  We had a rough weekend so we needed to turn that around.  We played good baseball today.  We had to resume game one, we scored three runs in the ninth, put the winning run at the plate, down four and had a chance to win that game. We had some momentum going into game two.  The first four innings were 0-0 and then runs got put on the board.  I'm proud of our guys, we had some big, clutch hits and it was a big win for us. "

On the ability to bounce back after each half-inning…

We showed some toughness today and we needed to show that.  We've had some opportunities this year to come through in big situation and we hadn't quite done it yet, so that was big for us to be able to come through.  We showed some fight.

Player’s Perspective:

Cam Shepherd | Fr. | SS

On offensive momentum carrying over from the three-run ninth in game one...

"We came out here and tried to fight our butts off to get back into that game. We did, we got some momentum, and we got our bats going in the second game."

On the strong offensive performance in game two...

"We're relaxing a little bit. We're at that point in the season where all of the jitters are kind of out and everyone's being themselves and getting the bats going."

Justin Glover | Fr. | LHP

On his first collegiate start...

"A little bit nerve-wracking to start, but I'm glad I got it out of the way and was able to come back and compete well. I didn't have my greatest stuff, but I'm glad I came out here and gave us a chance to win, even though it wasn't for as long as I wanted it to be. I'm just looking forward to the next one."

On freshmen contributing...

"It's awesome. We've grown up playing together with a lot of these guys. To be able to have success at this level, to be able to see guys having fun, playing together, it's starting to turn around a little bit. Bats are getting going. It's just great to see."
