Twitter is awake early in the morning to party with Earth, Wind And Fire - joining in on what’s been called ‘Earth Wind And Fire’ Day.
The social celebration popularized by the song lyrics in ‘September’, which include ‘Do you remember, 21st night of September?’ has Twitter, Instagram and TikTok feeling funky today under #DoYouRemember.
In celebration for the past five years now, Demi Adejuyigbe has also turned September 21 into an internet holiday, inspired by the 1978 hit.
Adejuyigbe has been using these videos to raise money for charity by selling “SEPT 21”. Last year, Demi announced his 2020 video will be his last — unless he raises $50,000 for a group of charities including Street Watch LA, Trans United Fund, BlackRoots Alliance, and the National Asian Pacific American Women’s Forum. At the end of his 9/21/2020 video Adejuyigbe pointed out that last year’s video earned 1.5 million views, meaning if everyone donated $0.04 every time they watched, the goal would be met.
Currently, the video’s fundraising has raised over $300,000 (from it’s initial $50,000 goal).
No sign of the newest installment of the video series just yet, but remember to keep an eye out!
