Six former Georgia baseball players sign professional contracts

After a disappointing finish to a historic season, the Georgia baseball team had six players sign contracts with MLB teams.

Aaron Schunk signed with the Colorado Rockies, LJ Talley signed with the Toronto Blue Jays, Tony Locey signed with the St. Louis Cardinals, Tim Elliott signed with the Seattle Mariners, Zac Kristofak signed with the Los Angeles Angels and Tucker Maxwell signed with the Philadelphia Phillies.

A few of these players have already made their professional debuts with their new teams.

Schunk made his debut this past Sunday in the Northwest League for the Short Season Class A Boise Hawks. Schunk has played in three games for the Hawks and in his debut Schunk went 1-for-4 with a single.

Talley made his debut this past Saturday in single A for the Lansing Lugnuts. Talley has played in two games for the Lugnuts and in his debut Talley went 1-for-3 with a single.

Elliott also made his debut this past Saturday for the Short Season Class A affiliate, the Everett AquaSox. Elliott struck out two batters throughout two scoreless innings.
