A-CC Commissioners to consider minority contract disparities

Athens-Clarke County Commissioners meet this evening, a 6 o’clock agenda setting session at City Hall. Plans for a so-called disparity study are up for discussion, with a plan to spend up to $400 thousand dollars for a consultant’s report on whether and to what extent minority businesses faces discrimination in getting government contracts with Athens-Clarke County. It is a plan that could get Commission approval in October.

Mike Martin says he is no longer a candidate for the District 2 seat on the Jefferson City Council. Martin’s exit from the race leaves two names on the November ballot. Malcolm Gramley is in the incumbent on the Council in Jefferson. He’s challenged by Dawn Maddox.

Madison County’s Planning and Zoning Board meets, 6:30 this evening in Danielsville.
