ACCPD reports more gang arrests

Athens-Clarke County Police say their latest gang arrests bring the total of suspected gang members apprehended since December to 21. 18 year-old Lance Blockum and 21 year-old Raekwon Jennings are both from Athens.

On January 20, 2022, the Athens-Clarke County Police Department arrested known gang members Raekwon Jennings, 20, of Athens, GA; and Lance Blockum, 18, of Athens, GA, as part of our continuing efforts to target criminal street gang activity.

Jennings was arrested for existing warrants for Violation of the Georgia Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act, Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime, and Reckless Conduct.

Blockum was arrested for Carrying a Pistol Without a License, Obstruction of Law Enforcement, and Loitering and Prowling.

Over the past several weeks, ACCPD has made 21 arrests of known gang members or associates. In addition to the arrests, ACCPD has seized 13 firearms, as well as drugs and stolen property. ACCPD is committed to protecting the community and will continue to focus our efforts on violent criminal street gangs.
