Homicide investigation underway in Snellville

Englewood Way Snellville shooting Police say the investigation is currently underway in the area of Englewood Way near Long Street.

SNELLVILLE, Ga. — The Snellville Police Department and GBI are investigating after a driver crashed into a home on Sunday.

Det. Jeff Manley with Snellville police said they received a shots fired call just before 6 p.m. in the area of Englewood Way near Long Street.

When police arrived on scene, they found a vehicle that crashed into a home. Inside of the vehicle, a man was found dead.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation was called to assist Snellville police, in what they’re calling “a murder.” The identity of the victim was not released by police.

A witness told WSBTV he was upstairs and heard gunshots and seconds later, the house shook and part of the car was in the living room.

“I hear three little bangs. I was like what was that,” witness Mason Watkins asked.

Watkins said he later ran outside and noticed part of a BMW in the living room of the home. He later describes seeing crime scene tape up.

It is unclear if anyone is in custody.
