A-CC, Barrow Co Commissioners hold first meetings of the new year

An Athens-Clarke County Commission work session—the first of the new year--is on tap for today, a 5:30 virtual session that will take place on WebEx and stream on the Athens-Clarke County government’s YouTube channel.

County government offices that closed last week in Winder are expected to reopen later this week. Barrow County closed most government offices because of a recent spike in coronavirus cases. They are scheduled to open for business tomorrow.

Barrow County Commissioners are scheduled to meet tonight: it is a 7 o’clock session at the Historic Courthouse in Winder.

Braselton will soon be in the market for a new mayor: Bill Orr says he will not run for reelection when his term expires later this year. Orr was first elected Mayor of Braselton 12 years ago.

Hall County Emergency Management director Casey Ramsey has a new assignment: he will oversee Hall County’s emergency 911 dispatch center. Officials in Gainesville say Ramsey will take on his newly-expanded role starting next week.
