ACCPD patrol car hits pedestrian

Non-life threatening injuries sustained by a pedestrian who was struck by a marked Athens-Clarke County patrol vehicle early Friday morning.

From the ACCPD: 

On November 30, 2018 at approximately 6:35 am, an ACCPD officer was traveling to work in his marked patrol vehicle when he collided with a pedestrian at the intersection of MLK Parkway and North Avenue. The officer began providing treatment to the victim until EMS arrived. The pedestrian, a 54-year-old Athens resident, was transported to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Per Athens-Clarke County Police policy, the Georgia State Patrol was called and asked to investigate the accident. Their investigation has not been completed at this time and is ongoing.
