Another death on Lake Lanier

There has been another death on Lake Lanier: Kaylynn Ticas was 20 years old, from Lawrenceville. The state Department of Natural Resources says she was on a jet ski when she slammed into a shoreline at Van Pugh Park in Flowery Branch.

She was removed from the water by bystanders and taken to the Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.

The DNR says the investigation into the apparent accident is ongoing. Ticas is the 12th person to die on Lake Lanier this year.

A 30 year-old man who was pulled from Lake Lanier last week died Thursday, which is a day after his 9-year-old son's death.
The Atlanta Journal-Cnstitution reported that Libao Chen, of Hoschton, tried to rescue his son, Ethan Chen, after he didn't surface at the beach near Margaritaville at Lanier Island last Thursday.
The father slipped into the water and didn't reemerge until lifeguards and bystanders on the beach found him and the boy
