ATHENS, GA — Applications are now open for students to attend the University of Georgia’s new School of Medicine.

The opening of applications comes after the school received preliminary accreditation last week. The new school will be the second public medical school in the state.

Primary applications are due March 6, while secondary applications are due March 13.

The university expects to enroll 60 students to begin classes this fall as part of the inaugural class.
