Athens-Clarke County Commission limits public gatherings in special session

On Mar. 16, the Athens-Clarke County Commission met in a special called session to discuss how to react to coronavirus. The commission approved a limit on public gatherings of 10 or more people in restaurants, bars and places of entertainment as well as on public property or buildings owned by the county.

In addition, the commission adopted a voluntary shelter in place for the entirety of Athens-Clarke County from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. each day.
