Athens forgery suspects arrested in Elberton

Two Athens men face charges in Elbert County: Jeffrey Franklin and Elisha Moreau are both 25 years old; they are both accused of forging prescriptions for drugs at pharmacies in Elberton. Elberton Police say 40 year-old Terrone Dean of Ellenwood was also arrested.

A Barrow County man faces child sex charges in Hall County: Stewart Mitchell is 33 years old, from Auburn. He’s accused of using his computer to send pornographic pictures to and have inappropriate on-line conversations with children. He’s in the Hall County jail; a Hall County Sheriff’s Office investigation is ongoing.

Arson investigators say a fire that destroyed a home in Stephens County was intentionally set. The blaze burned a house in Toccoa. The Toccoa Fire Department is in on the ongoing investigation, and the state Insurance Commissioner’s Office says there is a reward of up to $10,000 for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in the case.

We have this morning the name of the Hall County woman killed in this week’s car crash in White County: Lizzie Truelove was 85 years old, from Murrayville. The wreck happened on Highway 115 in White County; Truelove died after being taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.

Police in Covington say they pulled him over for a busted headlight: they say they arrested Gregory Ketner on a long list of charges that include possession of methamphetamine; he’s also facing weapons charges. The Tennessee man was booked into the Newton County jail.

A woman said to have been kidnapped from Gwinnett County is rescued by police in Alabama: police in Bessemer Alabama say the woman is safe; they say they have arrested 33 year-old Christopher Gray. The woman says she was taken from her home near Snellville and sexually assaulted by Gray.
