Athens woman arrested, Gainesville man dies, Dawson Co man burned

An Athens woman is arrested in Elberton: Elberton Police say there are cocaine charges for 37 year-old Jessica Alexander, who is also accused of obstructing law enforcement officers. 

Police in Gainesville say the man who shot himself after a traffic stop in Gainesville has died: it happened earlier this week as police approached the car they'd pulled over near Lakeshore Mall. The man, whose name has not yet been released, was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville after the Tuesday shooting. He died Wednesday. The GBI is investigating. 

A Dawson County man is flown by helicopter to a hospital after a Wednesday housefire. While Dawson County firefighters are searching for the cause of the blaze, they say there is no indication of foul play.
