Busy day on campus: Food Summit, abortion protest, Blue Key banquet

Congressman Sanford Bishop, a Democrat who represents most of southwest Georgia, is in Athens today, joined by Tift County Republican Austin Scott and American Farm Bureau Federation president Zippy Duvall at the University of Georgia's Global Food Security Summit. It's underway at 9 o'clock this morning at the Georgia Museum of Art.

The anti-abortion group Created Equal says it will be back on campus today, with a portable jumbotron set up at the University of Georgia, showing what it says are graphic photographs of images of aborted fetuses. The group has made similar stops at Georgia State and Kennesaw State universities, and at other schools around the country.

The University of Georgia's annual Blue Key Alumni Banquet is on tap for tonight in Athens, underway at 6:30 at the Georgia Center.
