CCSD opens online kindergarten and Pre-K registration

The Clarke County School District 2023-24 pre-K and kindergarten early registration online application is now available. There is an in-person early registration period later this month, set for February 20 through the 25th in the district gymnasium on Prince Avenue in Athens.

The Clarke County School District 2023-24 pre-K and kindergarten early registration Online Application is now available, and families are encouraged to complete the application prior to the in-person early registration period later this month. The application is available in English and Spanish.

CCSD’s pre-K and kindergarten early registration period for the 2023-24 school year will be held Monday, Feb. 20, through Saturday, Feb. 25, in the district gymnasium, located at 595 Prince Ave., Athens. Early registration will be 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to noon Saturday. After the early registration period, registration will continue to be held in the Student Registration Center, located on the second floor of the district administrative offices building at 595 Prince Ave. On-site assistance will be provided.

The online application is the first step in a two-step process to registering your child. Please complete the online application. You will receive two separate emails: first, an email verifying your email address, and second, an email with your application number that you have completed the application, which should take approximately 20-30 minutes to complete. Please bring the second email with your application number and the following documentation with you to in-person registration:

• certified copy of the student’s birth certificate or student’s passport
• the student’s Social Security card
• the student’s current immunization record (Georgia Form 3231)
• picture ID of the student’s parent or legal guardian (Guardians must provide proof of guardianship)
• proof of residence, including any two of the following: mortgage statement/rent statement or copy of lease; water, power, gas, cable, internet, trash, or pest control bill with name and address.

The online application may be completed in person at the registration site, but we strongly recommend that the application be completed beforehand, if possible, to avoid prolonged wait times. All pre-K applications processed between Feb. 20-25 will be added to the district’s pre-K lottery. Students who are registered after Feb. 25 will be assigned based on available seating. Students are assigned to schools according to the residential attendance zone of the student’s legal parent or guardian. Students must be 4 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2023, to be eligible for pre-K.
