CCSD parents eligible for pandemic benefits

School bells ring Friday in Jefferson

The Clarke County School District says all parents with children in public schools in Athens are eligible for a $256 Pandemic Electronic Benefits Transfer. Information is available on the state DFACS website.

The Clarke County School Board’s policy committee meets this afternoon: the 4:30 session will be streamed on the Clarke County School District website. The District continues to aim for a delayed start to the school year, with classes now set to start on September 8 instead of August 3 as scheduled. Classes, when they begin, will be on-line only.

Today is the last day of summer break for students and teachers in one school system in Jackson County: Jefferson City Schools are scheduled to begin the new school year tomorrow, with COVID mitigation measures in place for in-classroom instruction in Jefferson.
