City Councilwoman to run for Mayor in Hoschton

City Councilwoman Hope Weeks says she is a candidate for mayor in Hoschton: Weeks is running for the seat vacated with the December resignation of former Mayor Theresa Kennerly, who, along with Hoschton City Councilman Jim Cleveland, stepped down amid controversy over racial statements each made last year.  Kennerly is said to have blocked the hiring of a city manager candidate because he is black. Cleveland made statements against interracial marriage.

The elections to fill their posts will be held on March 24, the same day as Georgia’s presidential preference primaries.
