City Hall is looking for public input as Athens-Clarke County Manager Blaine Williams searches for the next Athens-Clarke County Police Chief, a replacement for former Chief Scott Freeman (pictured above), who was fired earlier this year. Feedback on the search is being collected at the Athens-Clarke County government website, and will be for the next two weeks. There is also a phone number to leave recorded messages: 706 224 3202.
From the Athens-Clarke Co Government website…
Athens-Clarke County Manager Blaine Williams asks the public to provide input until Friday, December 21 about what they believe should be the characteristics, qualities, and priorities of the new Athens-Clarke County Police Chief.
"As we consider Police Chief candidates throughout our search process," said Williams, "it is important to me that any member of the community has an opportunity to express their thoughts as to what are important characteristics, qualities, and priorities of the next Police Chief that we should consider during our reviews."
Feedback can be provided through an online form at www.accgov.com/policechief, print forms available at City Hall in the Manager’s Office (301 College Avenue, Suite 301) and at the Police Department's East Precinct / Headquarters (3035 Lexington Highway) during normal business hours, and voicemail by calling 706-224-3202 and leaving a comment.
All comments are due by the end of the day on Friday, December 21.
