A-CC Commission work session today

An Athens-Clarke County Mayor and Commission work session is on tap for today, underway at 5:30 at City Hall. 

There is more sales tax talk on tap for today in Athens: a forum on the projects that are being funded by the Transportation Sales Tax is set for 5:30 this afternoon. It will take place at the Rocksprings Park and Community Center on Henderson Extension in Athens. 

There is a morning meeting of the Oconee County Board of Assessors: it's a 9 o'clock session at the Oconee County courthouse in Watkinsville.

Madison County firefighters lobby for a larger portion of sales tax revenues if Madison County voters approve a tax referendum in November. They're looking to beef up the budget for Madison County's volunteer fire department, from one million to two million dollars.  

Barrow County Commissioners meet tonight, 7 o'clock at the Historic Courthouse in Winder. 

Elbert County Commissioners are talking about energy upgrades for County buildings in Elberton: they're looking at saving on energy bills by getting new equipment.   

The Hall County School Board, meeting in Flowery Branch, unveils a $270 million school system budget, giving tentative approval to the spending plan that is about $11 million larger than last year's budget.
