A-CC Commissioners meet to discuss illegal aliens

Tonight’s Athens-Clarke County Commission agenda-setting meeting is set for 6 o’clock at City Hall. Commissioners will take up what they say is a resolution in support of undocumented aliens in Athens.

The Athens Cultural Affairs Commission is looking for artists and designers to submit proposals for the signs, markers, and plaques that will be part of the Athens Music Walk of Fame planned for downtown Athens. Deadline for proposals is September 21. The submission form is at the Athens-Clarke County government website. 

There is an evening meeting of the Morton Theatre's Board of Directors: it's underway at 6:30 at the Morton on Washington Street. 

Madison County's Planning and Zoning Board meets, 6:30 this evening in Danielsville. 

The Madison County property tax rate is on the agenda for this evening's meeting of the Madison County Industrial Development Authority: it's set for 6 o'clock at the Historic Courthouse in Danielsville.

The Gainesville City Council meets this afternoon: it is a 5:30 session at the Public Safety Complex in Gainesville. City water rates are on the Council’s business agenda.
