A-CC Commissioners meet, Oconee Commission looks to upgrade Civic Center

An Athens-Clarke County Mayor and Commission work session is underway at 5:30 this afternoon at City Hall.

Oconee County Commissioners, meeting in Watkinsville, have signed off on a $1.2 million package of renovations and upgrades to the Oconee County Civic Center. 

Oconee County's Board of Tax Assessors is meeting this morning: it's a 9 o'clock session at the courthouse in Watkinsville.

Barrow County Commissioners, meeting in Winder, say they might look for federal funding to help with transportation projects. Commissioners are looking at work on the Highway 316 corridor and at the possible widening of Highway 211 near I-85 in Braselton.

Officials have cut the ribbon with a dedication ceremony and an open house at the newest school in the Franklin County School System: Franklin County's new College and Career Academy houses 50,000 square feet of learning space. Work began on the facility last summer and the school opened in August.
