Dates set for next Citizens Police Academy

The Athens-Clarke County Police Department sets the dates for the next Citizens Police Academy: it will begin on September 10 and run through December 3. The Department is accepting applications for enrollment in the classes, most of which will be taught at police headquarters on Lexington Road in Athens. 

From the ACCPD…

Attend the academy to learn from ACCPD professionals in fields such as forensics, communications, criminal investigations, and traffic enforcement. Completed applications will be reviewed and those selected will be contacted. 

Application and Information

Requirements:

• Must be resident of or work in Athens-Clarke County
• Must be at least 18 years of age by first class.
• Must complete an application and agree to a criminal history check
• Must attend 10 of 13 sessions to receive a Certificate of Achievement
