Dudley Park forum tonight

The Athens-Clarke County Leisure Services Department hosts a public information session on plans for Dudley Park: it’s starts at 6 at the East Athens Community Center. That’s on McKinley Drive in Athens.

The Athens-Clarke County Leisure Services Department will host a Public Information Open House Wednesday, August 15 from 6:00-8:00 PM to provide input on infrastructure improvements to Dudley Park. The Open House will be take place at the East Athens Community Center at 400 McKinley Drive.

Improvements for the park are funded through the SPLOST 2011 program and in accordance with the approved Dudley Park Master Plan. The purpose of this Open House is to get input from the public on the priority order of the elements from the Approved Project Concept. Also, to get any input on the specific types of features desired within the individual elements. Schematic designs and priority list will be created following and from the information obtained during the public input sessions.

Examples of the improvements include a proposed amphitheater, realignment of greenway trails within the park, playground facilities, picnic pavilion, restrooms, invasive vegetation management, and park signage among other things. 

This is a drop in format with no formal presentation. Staff will be present to answer questions.
