Fires investigated, suspects arrested

We have this morning the name of the man who died in a motor home fire in Stephens County earlier this week: Richard Booker was 80 years old, from Toccoa. He was apparently living in the RV that went up in flames in an RV park in Toccoa. Firefighters have not yet identified an exact cause; they say, however, the fire might have started as a result of Booker smoking.

Firefighters say the blaze that burned a Hall County Community Center was apparently accidental in origin. No injuries were reported in the fire at the North Hall Community Center.

A man from Louisiana is behind bars in Hall County: James Fagan is 66 years old, from Baton Rouge. He's charged with making terrorist threats at a convenience store in south Hall. The Hall County Sheriff's Office says Fagan threated to rape and kill people at the store. He's being held without bond at the Hall County jail.

A Newton County man faces charges after shooting and wounding a 6 year-old girl. The girl was shot in the leg inside a home in Covington. Charges leveled against 23 year-old Dominique Bines (pictured above) include aggravated assault and child cruelty.
