First week of early voting ends

The first week of early voting comes to a close today: voters in Athens and Oconee counties have been casting ballots in two special legislative elections, filling vacancies in House Districts 117 and 119. There’s a transportation sales tax referendum in Athens and municipal elections around the region. The early voting continues for another two weeks, with election day itself on Tuesday November 7.
