Flood fears after winter storm

There are flood warnings along the Oconee River, impacting parts of Clarke, Oconee, and Greene counties, and further downstream in Washington and Wilkinson counties.

The heavy rain that fell this past weekend in north Georgia is now impacting much of middle Georgia, with rising river levels causing problems in and around Macon: there are reports of flooding along stretches of the Ocmulgee River, with road closures and a river level that might not dip below flood stage before tomorrow.
