After the rains of the past three days, there is a flood warning for the Oconee River near Penfield, affecting parts of Clarke, Oconee, and Greene counties. The National Weather Service says the flood warning is in effect through tomorrow morning.

The Oconee River near Penfield.
* Until Thursday morning.
* At 9PM Tuesday the stage was 13.2 feet...and rising.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 13.0 feet.
* The river will continue rising to near 13.3 feet by after midnight
tomorrow. The river will fall below flood stage early Thursday
morning.
* At 13.0 feet...Flood Stage is reached. Minor flooding occurs along
the river upstream and downstream from the gage on the Georgia
Highway 15 bridge. The right bank begins to overflow into
agricultural land and pastures with a foot or two of water.
