Flooding a possibility in Athens, NE Ga

Forecasters say the rain that is expected to start falling this afternoon will usher in several days of wet weather for Athens and northeast Georgia, with the potential for serious flooding later in the week, most likely Wednesday night into Thursday. 

Channel 2 Action News Meteorologist Brad Nitz says "I've revised the totals down slightly, but flooding remains a concern."

Athens could receive two to three inches of rain, while northwest Georgia is in line to receive between four and six inches.
