Former UGA student sentenced, Stephens Co man arrested

A former University of Georgia student from Augusta gets a 5-year prison sentence for running a Ponzi scheme: 23 year-old Syed Arbab defrauded more than 100 people out of $1 million in what federal prosecutors described as a phony hedge fund.

A motorcycle crash in Stephens County ends a police chase that began in Habersham County: Michael Kloss is 41 years old, from Eastanollee. He’s facing charges that include reckless driving, DUI, and attempting to elude a law enforcement officer. Kloss and a passenger on his motorcycle were taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.
