Forum on sex trafficking tonight at UGA

A task force organized to raise awareness on the problem of child sex trafficking in Georgia holds a forum this evening in Athens: it's set for 6 o'clock at UGA's Wright Hall.

ACC Sex Trafficking Awareness and Response (STAR) Task Force is hosting a community training on domestic minor sex trafficking provided by Georgia Cares. Please circulate the attached flyer with anyone in your community who may be interested.

This training will be interactive and engaging with videos, activities, and discussion around the epidemic of child sex trafficking and what it looks like in Georgia. The goals of the training are:

  • Increase understanding of Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking (DMST)/Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC) and Human Trafficking in general
  • Understand the trauma, abuse and victimization of Child Sex Trafficking
  • Become familiar with Georgia Cares and local community resources
  • Increase knowledge of Georgia Cares intervention and services
  • Learn about how to connect with community resources and how to get involved
