A Hall County middle school coach was arrested Friday morning on child molestation charges, according to the school district.

Calvin Cook, who teaches at Cherokee Bluff Middle School and coaches the Cherokee Bluff High School girl’s soccer team, turned himself in around 11 a.m.

School officials said the Flowery Branch police department made them aware of the pending charges on April 24. Cook was put on leave with pay.

According to the district, the alleged incident took place off-campus.

Cook has been with the Hall County School District since 2018 and teaches physical education at Cherokee Bluff Middle School.

“The Hall County School District takes these charges seriously and will deal with the situation accordingly,” the district said in a statement.

It’s unclear if police believe he may have more victims.
