The Franklin County Coroner’s Office has released the identities of seven people who were killed in a multi-vehicle wreck Saturday afternoon.
Chris Years, 33, Ashley Years, 34, and Luna Years, 3, all of Paulding County died when the Ford Excursion in which they were traveling collided with a Chevrolet van.
Alejandro Agis Perez, 53, Noe Gutierrez Cerna, 39, Oswaldo Hi Navarette, 25, and Eugenio Santoyo Serna, 36, were traveling in the van. They all were pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities said the Ford Excursion was traveling north on I-85 near mile marker 160, when it crossed the median into oncoming traffic about 1:45 p.m.
The Excursion then struck the van heading in the opposite direction, causing a chain-reaction crash in the interstate’s southbound lanes, the GSP said.
Three other people who were in the SUV were transported to the hospital. Their identities were not released, and their status is unknown.
Three other vehicles were involved in the wreck, but no other injuries were reported, state troopers said.
The GSP’s collision reconstruction team is investigating the wreck near Exit 160 (Ga. 51) in northeast Georgia.
