Hall Co man arrested on child porn charges

A 26 year-old Gainesville man is facing child porn charges: the Hall County Sheriff’s Office says a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children led to the arrest of Truman Hare, who was arrested at his home in Gainesville.

The Hall County Sheriff’s Office and Georgia Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force reached the peak of an investigation on Wednesday, May 5, with the arrest of a Gainesville man on multiple charges related to child sex abuse material.

Agents charged Truman Alexander Hare, 26, with 18 counts of electronic exploitation of a minor. Hare’s arrest came without incident Wednesday as Investigators executed a search warrant at his residence in the 3,000 block of Campus Pointe Circle.

According to the initial investigation, on February 5, 2021, Hare downloaded at least 17 images and one video of child pornography and emailed them to himself.

The case began on April, 27, 2021, when agents received a cybertip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children . Agents are continuing the investigation with forensic processing of electronic devices seized during the execution of the search warrant.
