Hit-and-run driver sought in Athens, high-speed police chase ends in Hartwell

Athens-Clarke County Police were, at last report, still trying to track down a suspect in a reported hit-and-run: a man tells police he was hit by a car on College Station Road, a vehicle that left the scene of the accident.

One person has been arrested after a high speed police pursuit that began in Anderson County South Carolina and ended in Hart County Georgia: Hart County Sheriff’s deputies and Georgia State Troopers chased a stolen pickup truck along I-85, a chase that finally ended near Highway 29 in Hartwell.

A Stone Mountain man adds to his rap sheet after being arrested again. DeKalb County Police say they spotted him driving a stolen car. 45 year-old Eddie Brantley was arrested for the 70th time after officers pulled him over in a vehicle that had been taken from a dry cleaner hours earlier. He was charged with theft by receiving stolen property. Brantley has previous arrests that include armed robbery, burglary, and aggravated assault.
