Housing forum at Library

Athens Mayor Kelly Girtz and state Rep Spencer Frye are among those taking part in a forum focusing on local zoning and building codes and their impact on affordable housing in Athens. It’s set for 6:30 this evening at the library on Baxter Street.

As Athens-Clarke County continues to talk about a growing affordable housing crisis, Athens Area Habitat for Humanity is teaming up with WUGA to present a special episode of Athens News Matters: " A Housing Code Hack". –will be recorded on Wednesday, August 21 at 6:30PM at the Athens Clarke County Library. Included in the panel from Athens Area Habitat for Humanity will be Spencer Frye, executive director, and Paul Farr, marketing director. Come out and hear more from Athens Area Habitat for Humanity as well as elected officials, developers, and community leaders at this event. The forum will be hosted by Alexia Ridley and Chris Shupe of WUGA's Athens News Matters. The program will be broadcast on WUGA on Friday, August 30 at 1pm and on Sunday, September 1 at 12 noon.
