Huge football weekend as Irish arrive in Athens

The big weekend is finally here: the third-ranked Georgia Bulldogs host Number 7 Notre Dame in Saturday night's showdown in Sanford Stadium. The game kicks at 8 and will be televised on CBS; ESPN will start its College Gameday broadcast at 9 tomorrow, going live from UGA's Meyers Quad. Listen to the game live on 960 The Ref or at 960theref.com.

From WSB TV…

Athens will be ground zero for college football this weekend.

The biggest football game, even bigger than the NFL, will be between the University of Georgia and Notre Dame.

Officials are preparing for an influx of thousands of people to attend the game, as much as 92,000 fans.

That would be the biggest game ever at Sanford Stadium.

"Saturday is going to be a fun day. All eyes will be on Athens and there's going to be some challenges, but we'll be there ready to help as best we can," said Tim Cearley, from UGA Tickets Operations.

If you're a lucky holder of a ticket, they are going for thousands online. But the schools said if you're still looking for tickets, you need to be careful about counterfeits.
