Investigators want help from the public after Lavonia fire

The state Fire Marshal’s Office is offering reward money and asking for help from the public in cracking the case of the Labor Day weekend fire that burned the Lake House Tavern in Lavonia. Hart County Firefighters say the building was fully engulfed in flames when they arrived on the morning of August 31. The blaze has not yet been ruled arson, but there is a reward of up to $10,000 for information that might lead to the arrest of the person who might have set the fire. The Hart County Sheriff’s Office is in on the ongoing investigation.
