Kemp meets with Trump at White House

Brian Kemp was at the White House Thursday: the Athens Republican joined other newly-elected governors in meetings with President Donald Trump. Kemp, who won the governor’s race last month, takes his oath of office one month from today.

During the meeting in the White House cabinet room, Kemp thanked the president and Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue for their response after Hurricane Michael hit parts of south and central Georgia.

The visitors also met with Cabinet members as part of a broader White House outreach effort to local officials.
