Lady Dogs play Vandy tonight at Stegeman

Georgia hosts the Vanderbilt Commodores at 7 p.m. ET this Thursday at Stegeman Coliseum. The contest will air on SEC Network +, with Matt Stewart and Dean Keener on the call.

» The Lady Bulldogs have won four-straight meetings against these two programs. Georgia owns a 39-27 advantage in the all-time series, including a 20-7 mark in Athens. The Lady Bulldogs have not lost to Vanderbilt at home since Feb. 10, 2011, when Vanderbilt defeated Georgia, 69-59, in Stegeman Coliseum.

» Georgia has won seven of its last 10 games this season, with the team’s only losses during this stretch coming to top-20 squads (No. 6 Baylor, No. 10 UCLA and No. 14 Mississippi State). The Lady Bulldogs’ strength of schedule ranks No. 18 nationally.

» Senior forward Stephanie Paul (pictured above) has led Georgia in scoring in each of the first two SEC contests, scoring 18 points at Ole Miss and 15 against Mississippi State. Paul played a season-high 33 minutes against MSU.

» Georgia trailed Mississippi State by just one point -- 48-47 -- going into the fourth quarter this past Sunday. MSU began the fourth period on an 8-0 run to close the game. The Lady Bulldogs shot a season-best 51 percent from the floor in the loss.

» Georgia ranks third in the SEC in free-throw percentage, hitting 73.9 percent from the line as a team. Last season, the Lady Bulldogs finished the year ranked 12th in the league in free-throw percentage.

» Preseason All-SEC guard Gabby Connally has scored in double figures in 16 of her last 20 games and has started 45-straight contests.

Scouting Vanderbilt

» Stephanie White, who is in her fourth year as head coach at Vanderbilt, has guided her team to an impressive turnaround this season. A year after finishing with a 7-23 record, the Commodores are currently 11-4 overall. A big reason for this year’s success is Athens, Greece native Mariella Fasoula. The 6-foot-5 forward leads the team in scoring and rebounding with 15.6 ppg and 8.0 rpg. Vanderbilt ranks seventh in the nation in total rebounds (658) and No. 17 nationally with 43.9 rebounds per game.
